A brand was born. A brand fans will come to love and remember her way long after her debut album Oxygen early 2012. With 8 songs recorded so far, the album is almost done though she is recording new material and can't really say if these songs will make the cut.

Lil Feyonce is she is a full time Christian and she says she finds it easy to reach people with feel good secular music. As much as love is the subject matter of her songs, she is an all rounded artist who is aware of other life issues that she addresses in her music. One of her songs is an emotional ballad dedicated to her father, who passed away recently. Lily Mutamz is the stage name of Lillian Mutambo, a talented and upcoming Zambian music artist currently residing in the UK. Born on the 21st of December, 1983 in Chingola, Zambia; music has always been a part of her life. At the tender age of 7, Lillian was already singing in front of her class and by the time she reached high school she had become actively involved in singing and dance. She was even chosen to represent her school at a concert at the Lusaka Play House; raising awareness for Zambian orphans.

She was a constant inspiration to her young peers who came to her for advice and ideas for singing and art competitions. At 14 she was discovered by Chisha Folotia, the Director of the Sing for a Million competition. Impressed by her talent he encouraged her to audition, which Lillian did along with her 9 year old cousin Ester. The duo earned a top 10 spot in the competition. During her school days she also had the opportunity to sing with popular Zambian musicians such as Joe Chibangu, Sister D and Moreen Lilanda. This helped her to become well known in the industry and intensified her desire to pursue music even more. Lily took every opportunity to further develop her talents, also joining her local church choir where she continued to express herself through music.

Now, at 27 years old, Lillian is the mother of 3 and a student in her second year of a Bachelor of Science in Social Work at the University of Winchester. She previously graduated from a Diploma in Social Work from Thames Valley University in 2010 where her academic achievements were recognised and rewarded with a scholarship for her current studies. Since being in the UK Lily has also met with Zambian artists like J.K and Kmillian who have encouraged her to focus on her studies even as she continuously works on building her music career. She is determined to work hard, not only to achieve her academic goals but her music ones. She is

In these days when most people are scared to go for VCT or even disclose their HIV status, Paul "Slim" Banda is a shining light. The 22 year old Lusaka based producer, singer, music writer and HIV Activist is an ordinary guy with an extra ordinary attitude towards life. Paul was born with HIV Positive but only learnt about his status when he was 15 and if you ask him, he confesses that it hasn't been easy to come to terms with his condition.

"It took a lot of courage to come to this point where I can talk about my status publicly. This condition is one that young people should take seriously and ensure that they protect themselves from it," says Paul.

But this condition hasn't stopped Paul from living a full life and reaching his dreams. The budding beat smith has produced for Slap Dee, Ruff Kid and P Jay as feature artists on other people's songs) Lloyd and Juvic. He produced Slap Dee's 'Nichidinize',an infectious song that features LloyDee, member of X.Y.Z. He co-produced Gold Digga,the groundbreaking Slap Dee single that features Jk. He single handedly produced LloyDee's Bondix Album, with the lead singles being Bondix ft. Slapdee & Ma Chain ft. Siphe. he later on produced his single 'Beat,Vocal,Nyimbo which featured Maya. He has also produced for Juvic who's now with K-amy.

Paul plans to produce for a couple of renowned artists and make his studio commercial. Being an Aids Activist he also intend to start a foundation that will help young people living with HIV. Other than that he released a single last year entitled 'Me' which was featured in the documentary and I intend to follow up with an album next year. Everybody Needs Some Hope is a true story. The words in the song are Samson Ngambi's life story,a brilliant student who is one of 25 students that are currently receiving scholarships from the Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development via the Breaking the Chains of Poverty in Zambia program that offers need-based merit scholarships to underprivileged high school students who exhibit excellent academic credentials, dedication to community service, and exemplary leadership skills. The vision of this program is to ensure that no child drops out of the best schools in Zambia due to lack of funds.

This song is the first single of The Develop Zambia 10101 Music Project is a youth driven and focused initiative which aims to promote a positive mindset among the youth through music. It also acts as a fundraising venture and awareness campaign for the Breaking Chains of Poverty in Zambia Scholarship Program through the production of music using the students and eminent local and international artists. The current project theme is “HOPE” and all songs on the compilation promote this. This will revive the fighting spirit in Zambia, necessary to break the shackles of poverty of both body and mind.Changing the nation’s ethos will rekindle the sense of pride to formulate our own ideals and philosophies and result in sustainable development.

Their music will leave you wondering where they have been because they fill a void in Zambian gospel that has long been left unfilled.With a debut album to their credit and a sophomore in the works,they are paving a niche for themselves and pushing the envelope with their soothing melodies and international appearances.

Their music is a unique blend of Rock, Afrobeat, Blues, Jazz and Gospel music. Their powerful guitar-driven, keyboard and drum-laden tracks are fused with African rhythm and truly spirit-uplifting vocals. Their material is skilfully written, composed, arranged and sung by the lead vocalist, Shadrach; exploring themes of faith and survival.

The band has steadily risen to be a great success in their home and neighbouring countries alike, with their distinctive style and emphasis on quality and professionalism. Much of their music is recorded in live studio sessions; favouring real instruments over heavily synthesised beats. Furthermore Ephesians Project has performed all over Zambia as well as Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Congo, Namibia, Tanzania and Botswana.

Their first album Silent Loud Voice featuring hit track Abana Ba Nkondo (translated Sons of War) was released in 2009 meeting with local and international success. Their sophomore album Abana Ba Nkondo Reloaded will be released late 2011.

Key members consist of Shadrach Mukarakate, Quinn Halwiindi and Douglas Chaswe. The band also includes Eric Lwatula on keys, Daniel Chulu on bass, and Eston Mwape on drums.

Additionally Ephesians Project have performed on stage and/ or collaborated on tracks with various well-known local artistes from Ephraim Mutalange, Matthew and BJ Ngosa, Stanley Chipuma, Mweshi Mulusa, Joyce Mwanza, Potipher, God's General, Black Candy, Mutinta, Cactus, Flex Ville Marley, Shimasta Mwelaonse and the Amazing Grace Tabernacle Choir, amongst others.

The band takes their name from the Book of Ephesians in the Bible, in particular, Ephesians 2:8-10. As an ongoing project or mission, Ephesians Project aim to share God's grace with their message being it doesn't matter what a person has done or where they've been, God's grace is enough. He is a God of many chances.

I started looking out for Dandy Krazy's second album the moment I got my hands on his "Not Guilty" groundbreaking debut. An singer like him comes only once in a life time because his music managed to bridge the gap between Lusaka and the Copperbelt and is a blue print for Copperbelt artists.

His second offering "Donchi Kubeba" picks off where his debut left off. It's an 18 track solid album filled with Kopala beats as we have come to know them. I was lucky to buy my copy of this album from Dandy Krazy himself in Lusaka at Barclays Bank in Cairo Road. I bought the CD without the cover because at the time Dandy was heading to Solwezi and he didn't have the covers with him. Nonetheless,the track list is written on the CD so its all good.

Although Baska didnt contribute any beats on this project,its still one of the best Zambian albums of 2011 and I am sure it will spill over to 2012. Dandy collaborated heavily with Shenky,an upcoming producer and singer whom he wants to help make a name. I gotta give it up to Baska for his work on Dandy's debut because Shenky simply copied Baska's drum patterns and used them on this record.

Dandy has risen from being a backup singer for Jojo Mwangaza to being a Bonafide entertainer other artists run to for collaborations.
This album follows builds on the theme of his last two albums,albeit on a much higher and better note.Subject matter consists of plenty of love and some social commentary here and there.He recently added acting to his resume and just for the record,the Jeraboh Unit star also has his own brand of brandy and its called "Krazy Berry." It comes in small plastic sachets unofficially called Tujili jili.

Ronald Chama aka D-Roni or Ron da Prod as he is know on facebook is a 25 year old music producer and CEO for Raising Sounds Studio, based in Livingstone,Zambia.His love for music production dates back to his early days in Mufulila town but its only when he moved to Livingstone that he really got take up music production seriously as a career.

In 2006 he opened his own recording studio with very little experience in music production under the name Ron.com Studio, a year later he changed the name to Raising Sounds Studio when he teamed up with Happy,a music producer who had a little more experience in music production and who at that time was the main producer at Raising Sounds Studios.In 2009, Roni went to Zimbabwe and took a six month course in Music Production by mid year Raising Sounds was slowly getting noticed in Livingstone as the production had improved tremendously but it was hard to make a large impact because most of the Livingstone based artists prefered to do there recordings in Lusaka with well know and estblished studios.By 2010 things had changed for the better when the studio recorded a Malaria charity song for the a UK based NGO called the Butterfly Tree with the help of Ty2,Crystal Shaun,up and coming artiste Kaufela and Lillian Mweene.

I want to take this time to promote music that's very close to my heart. As much as I feature Zambian contemporary music here,I must say that most Zambian artists are running around in circles because our sound it not really our own. Very few artists have carried the torch from our founding musicians like the Mulemena Boys,Paul Ngozi,Pk Chishala and all the 70s and 80s veterans who were kings of live music. Now see,my father was a musician and he was in a band with other musicians and so I basically grew up on the home brewed live music. Nathan Chikoya was born in Lusaka, Zambia on May 22, 1981.

He is a Christian rapper /singer/song writer. He seriously started pursuing music in 2001 when he joined the Living Faith Praise Team at St.Mary’s Anglican Church in New Kanyama just after graduating from high school.
Towards the end of 2007 he auditioned with Alli Music Studios and was the only gospel artist selected to record an eight track album.
Unfortunately he only managed to record one track off the project as he relocated to another town due to work related commitments.
Nevertheless, in 2009 he embarked on his first project titled
“Limbikira” which means “be strong and never give up”.

Three years later by God’s grace on 27th January, 2011 the album was released. The album is a testimony of great things God has done and is yet to do in his life.

The songs also contain a message of hope for the orphans,inspiration for the unmotivated, encouragement for the discouraged,healing for the brokenhearted and above all the goodness of God.His mission is to reach out to the world with life changing songs.

He is constantly praying that people will be blessed by his ministry and that they will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
